Count to Ten Karen Rose Books
4.5 Stars! Another great book in the Romantic Suspense Series. This book started off a little slow for me and I didn't really connect with the relationship between Reed and Mia although I liked both characters. The villain in this book was once again creepy and terrifying and utterly believable. Nobody writes villains better than Karen Rose. I think the suspense is stronger than the romance in this one and it isn't until more than 70% of the way through the book before Reed really "wakes up" and starts to let go of his past. Both Mia and Reed are strong, likable characters although Reed annoyed me occasionally. They both have a lot of past issues to deal with and so this romance is a very slow burn. I loved the suspense part of this book and couldn't put it down. It also packed much more of an emotional punch then I thought it would and from unusual places. The poem Reed's daughter wrote made me cry and the little boy in this story was just heartbreaking. I cried and then I laughed and I walked away feeling good and wishing it wasn't over and there isn't much more you can wish for from a book then that. I only took a 1/2 star off because it started slow for me and the romance really didn't happen until the end. This is a fabulous series and I'm looking forward to the next one!Tags : Amazon.com: Count to Ten (9780446616904): Karen Rose: Books,Karen Rose,Count to Ten,Grand Central Publishing,0446616907,Romance - Suspense,Arson,Romantic suspense fiction,AMERICAN LIGHT ROMANTIC FICTION,AMERICAN MYSTERY & SUSPENSE FICTION,FICTION Romance Contemporary,FICTION Romance Suspense,FICTION Thrillers Crime,FICTION Thrillers Suspense,Fiction,Fiction - Romance,Fiction-Romance,FictionRomance - Contemporary,MASS MARKET,Romance - Contemporary,RomanceGeneral,Thriller suspense, romantic suspense; chicago; police; romance; crime fiction; karen rose books; arson; fires; serial killers; serial killer thriller; love hate relationship; psychological thrillers; widowers; romantic suspense thrillers; romantic psychological thrillers; disturbing; gruesome; karen rose series; romantic suspense mystery; murder; murder mysteries; chicago pd; romantic suspense authors; mystery & thrillers suspense
Count to Ten Karen Rose Books Reviews
I dont think that Karen Rose could ever write a bad book, i really like all her books and cant wait to get to the next one she comes out with. She keeps you really looking forward to the outcome, and trying to figure out who dun it.!!
i would recommend any of her books to read, if you like the suspense books. she delivers it for you.
I ENJOYED EVERYONE OF KAREN ROSE BOOKS I READ THEM 2 TIMES EACH, I NEEDED ALONE IN THE DARK, BUT I GOT THE WRONG BOOK, BUT I LOVE KAREN ROSE BOOKS, I WISH NOW THAT I DIDN'T TAKE THEM TO THE LIBARY BECAUSE THE LAST 2 BOOKS I READ I READ THE LAST ONE FIRST, THEN THE SECOND, NOW I NEED, IN THE DARK, I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT HER BOOKS
Love these books for taking your mind off other things
Another winner for Karen Rose. You are presented with characters from her other books, but if you haven't read them this is written so fresh that it doesn't matter. Karen is a master of character and plot development. You root for the heros to hurry up. The villians are capable of things almost beyond imagination. I suggest this book and any other book by Karen Rose if you enjoy thrillers. You won't be able to put it down until the explosive end.
Yes it did keep me in suspense. I enjoy reading these kind of novels and tis one was well written in my opinion. I will add this to my keep in suspense collection
This is one of the best books I have read by this author. The story grabbed me within the first few pages and I didn't want to put it down. A fire that turns into a homicide case teams Detective Mia Mitchell and Reed Solliday together as temporary partners. Both being afraid of commitment they find themselves drawn to each other. As they investigate a series of fires/homicides Detective Mitchell is put in the limelight and now she is in the killers crosshairs.. Full of suspense, drama, and a touch of humor in spots this author keeps you guessing until the very end.
Reed is a recovering alcoholic single Dad; he is also an investigator for the fire department. When a house fire turns up a homicide he gets paired with Mia. Mia is a short, sassy, detective who tells it like it is. The two of them are trying to figure out who is setting these fires and then the arsonists starts to make things personal for them when he targets their friends and family. They have to deal with the painful pasts if they are going to make their new relationship work. The two main characters in this book had a lot problems, I didn't think that their relationship was going to work out. I liked seeing characters from her other books pop up in this one as well. The author had me playing amateur detective again trying to solve the mystery of who was the killer. The ending really got to me, finding out why Mia is the way she is added an extra layer to an already great character. Count To Ten is a good book that will suck you in and keep you interested to the last page.
