The Magic Wilds Book Four eBook Donna Augustine

It's always sad to see a favorite series end and say goodbye to characters I've come to love. But as a finale to an exciting and unique series THE MAGIC tics all of the boxes in the HOT DANG category! Once I started the book there was nothing important enough to keep me from finishing it that night.

There had been so many questions to be answered in the final book that I admit to being afraid a loose string could be left dangling. Fear not! I was more than happy with how every line was followed to a conclusion that spanned a range of emotions from being satisfied I'd guessed correctly, to having What The Heck Just Happened moments.

Dal was such a complex mixture of anger, humor, strength and determination. It was fascinating to watch her grow from the child she was when rescued from the Cement Giant, to the woman she became by the end of the series. Uncovering all the mysteries and layers of Dax was so intriguing. Bookie was a favorite and my lord was I ever happy to see him in this last book! Lucy returns and I want to tell you soooo bad what she gets up to but I can't spoil it for you. I could go on and on with all of the characters that make a return appearance but again that would be spoiling it. Just know that you will turn the last page on this series with a sigh at having to leave the world of Dal and Dax but with a smile at the way it's brought to an end.

The Magic Wilds Book Four eBook Donna Augustine Reviews

A wonderful end to what turned out to be a surprisingly good series. I must admit I wasn't sure after reading the first book I would like it, but I'm glad I continued. Not only did the storyline get better with each successive book, but at least one of my earlier plot-hole grumblings was satisfied. I also have to say Dal's declaration that she's going to stay with Dax had me laughing out loud. A well-deserved five-star rating!
Absolutely loved this series..This last installment bought the series full circle.. we learnt all about Dal and why and what she was wanted for... Bookie and what bought hom back..excepting love, what the Dark walkets are after why theu are the way they are.. why the wood mist are the way they are whats going on with Tiffy soo we learn alot...perfect ending loved it great series... give it a try
Interesting plot and character development. Does a good job of world building in terms of plot, but lacking the details of surrounding communities and characters such as in Game of Thrones. The book is told from the perspective of a few main characters, which is really good for staying with the main story, but does limit how much development of non-main characters that can happen.

While some characters were supposed to have bad grammar, the book has several words that don't fit in sentences separate from the intentional.
Not that Karma was terrible or anything, but there were some blazing plot holes that made no sense. This girl has no experience with the real world being locked in a psych ward since the ripe old age of 4. When she doesn't get something, or does something stupid, I understand it. I appreciate that it wasn't all about sex. And it was nice not to have your usual shifters and vamps. This really was more of a fairy tale series. I give it props for some original ideas, even if the girl and guy are the standard fair these days.
Donna Augustine's final book in the Wilds series, The Magic, is everything I love in a book - Dahlia is perfect to lead this story - brave when she shouldn't be, loyal to a fault, self-sacrificing, and learning more about life every day. As Dahlia grows into herself in this book, so does she grow into her relationships - with her friends, her enemies, and Dax - who she still cannot manage to determine who he is to her.

I loved everything about The Magic, except that it concluded the series, I find the stories and worlds created by Ms. Austin to amaze the heck out of me, it is with passing comfort that I await her new series later this year.
I love Donna Augustine's writing style. I love the creative adventures and worlds she cooks up for her readers as well as how she builds up the romance between the H and h. I think the Wilds is the best series I have ever read and the only series I have read multiple times.

In The Magic, number four and the last, Augustine brings everything together and we finally see how all the pieces mesh. Dal finally has a home and she is slowly becoming comfortable enough to open up. I love the fact that in this series, love does not equal sex. So many romance story lines tout the lust and passion aspect, while it isn't absent (it's hard not to drool over Dax), there is definitely a depth of relationship shown in Augustine's writings that reaches part of the heart and love relationships that makes your soul smile and the others scene that much more intimate. While the story is fast paced, you can't read it quickly, as the author seems to trust in the intelligence of her readers and not everything is spelled out. There were a couple of things I almost missed and then when it occurred to me it had an even larger affect on my emotions. Not to say that Dal isn't still full of her witty humor and crazy ideas that had me laughing out loud multiple times.

Hats off to you Donna, I fully look forward to the next series.
I have been following this series and have thoroughly enjoyed every book. There is a headstrong heroine, a nice spin on supernatural creatures especially the shape-shifters, a male worthy of loving and some very interesting characters. You can see liking this has been very easy.

It was a very satisfying finish even if there will still be trials to face. Lovely reading.
