Certainly not the best book I have ever read but well crafted, if depressing. Reminded me a little of The Hunger Games Trilogy, but without the romance and little pieces of humour.

If this is how climate change is going to be, I feel sorry for my offspring.

End of the world weather and madness prevail in this haunting novel. I couldn't put it down and slept with the lights on for three days. The writing transcends genre.Being inside the protagonists' head as she struggles to survive is totally hallucinogenic. The off-beat, but well-developed characters resonate with the tremors of a world all too close for comfort. I can't wait for Ms. Mcdonaugh's next novel
