Desperate Alliances The Last T'En Trilogy Book 3 Cory Daniells 9780553581034 Books

I really fell in love with this trilogy due to the great and unusual characters and the intense relationships revolving around the primary characters. Therefore, I was really determined to find and purchase this book, even at extra expense to see how it all turned out, and would definitely give the first two books 5 stars each.

I found the ending to be unexpectedly dissatisfying, with no clear HEA after all of the challenges the characters faced. It's almost as if there were supposed to be more books and the author felt that she needed to wrap things up suddenly, because she'd been informed that this was to be the last book in the series. Even if that were true, the ending could have been much, much more satisfying. That would have been well within the author's obvious writing abilities. The unsatisfying ending reduced my rating regretfully to a 3.

Desperate Alliances The Last T'En Trilogy Book 3 Cory Daniells 9780553581034 Books Reviews

The book arrived in mint condtion ,first rate packing ,and arrived here in 10 days! would recommend them .
Lots of potential, however, I was constantly reminded of my Mother's Harlequin Romances. He loves her and trusts her. Half a page down (literally), after some innuendo from someone whom he DOESN'T like nor trust.... he distrusts and rejects our heroine. This happens over and over and over again. The only constant is his enduring lust for her. Harlequin romance.

I won't be reading the first or last book of the trilogy. Ms Daniells can do better!
Three warriors vie for love and land with single-minded purpose, sorted haunted pasts and noble dreams of righting a war torn country.
Blazing passions sore midst heart-stopping peril to friends and countrymen as the battle for Fair Isle sparks up with barrelling breakneck pace.
Who will win the last T'En princess' heart? The magnificent barbarian captor or the fearsome beauty, sorcerous renegade Roethe? who with relentless unwavering pursuit marches to his own drum to regain Fair Isle and the women pledged to him with a sacred bonding ritual as old and as binding as time?
I liked least the part about the T'En baby born too soon who therefore loses some of his powers. Also the part about the blinding of the last pure T'En male-altho his powers could (with time) be restored. I liked best the idea that the supposedly 'bad guy' lasted through thick and thin with honor and grace, to become a helpmate to restore Fair Isle. I loved that idea. I could not have asked for a better ending.
Reothe, the last T'En warrior, thought to marry Imoshen, the last T'En empress, when the Ghebite General and his warriors invaded their island home of Fair Isle. To insure that her people would survive, Imoshen married the General and gave him an heir. In time she came to love Tulkhan and their marriage was more than a political merger.

Tulkhan and the Empress yearn only for peace so they can enjoy life but circumstances drive a wedge between them. Reothe still wants Imoshen and if truth were known, she loves him in a way she can never love the General. Yet when Tulkan's half-brother tries to take Fair Isle by force. Tulkhan, Imoshen and Reothe are forced into an alliance, using T'En magic and brute force, that might bring the powerful Ghebite empire to its knees.

This is the third and final novel in "The last T'En" trilogy and DESPERATE ALLIANCES is as good as it's two predecessors. Cory Daniels ties up all the loose ends and answers all the remaining questions so that readers of this sword-and-sorcery romantic fantasy will feel totally satiated upon completion of this novel. Ms. Daniels is a first-class storyteller whose words will appeal to lovers of epic and romantic fantasy.
