The author is a very well known Catholic convert from France. This is his first book published in English. Much thanks to the publisher, Magnificat, for making this available. I hope that Professor Hadjadj's prior works can be translated into English soon. I would buy all of them.The author is a professor and philosopher, but his writing is very accessible to laypersons such as myself. You do not need to have any training in theology or philosophy to enjoy and learn from this book. He is witty, charming, and down to earth. There is very little jargon, and he draws on examples from everyday life, including his own marriage and family. The summary provided on Amazon is accurate. This is a series of meditations or commentaries on the events described in the Gospels from the Resurrection to the Ascension, and how one can apply them to one's own life. It is particularly tailored to the time in which we live, in which things everyone accepted or took for granted are now in doubt. Its sort of like reading something by C.S. Lewis; its written by someone who is very eloquent, affable and probably more intelligent than you, but who has written a book that you can enjoy without feeling you have been condescended to.
I found his proposed explanation for and commentary on Thomas the Apostle's behavior after the Resurrection alone worth the price of the book. You will never look at "Doubting Thomas" the same way again.
I have the Kindle version, and it was free of the typos I often find in many ebooks.

I am so glad that I stumbled across this book! I read the free sample first, and immediately loved the author's writing style. He has a knack for writing humorously without doing a disservice to his faith or the integrity of the biblical texts he addresses.
I didn't finish it. I dislike the writer's style.
