I always describe this series as f*&(%^g to save the world. That's mostly because there is a lot of that going on in these books. The O'Kanes are cheerfully and joyously debauched and are perfectly happy to be that. But, they are also loyal, steadfast, stubborn, and determined. The O'Kanes want to win the war that they are going to have to fight so that they can get back to their life of drinking, partying, and fornicating.Hawk came over from Sector 6. At first, he was there because he saw the writing on the wall and he knew that teaming up with Dallas O'Kane was going to be a good idea. Then, he started to believe in the man's vision and became an O'Kane.
Jeni was a high-class prostitute who likes pain and control. For a while, she was Dallas and Lex's pet, but that ended. However, she was still an O'Kane. Hawk has been watching her like, well, a hawk, but she's been watching him too.
Hawk and Jeni's story is the one that destroys me the most of all the couple stories, I think. They have a really hard road to walk to begin with, and then the pressure of the upcoming war doesn't help with anything. There are things in Hawk's background that could end up hurting them, and the choices they have to make are ones that could be incredibly difficult on a long-established relationship, let alone a brand new one like Hawk and Jeni's. This is just another great book in a fantastic series.

What do you get when you mix a pending war with characters finally giving each other a chance to find love? You get one hot, fast-paced romance while the world falls apart around them. Hawk is the ultimate in alpha males and he's made even more likeable when you see how attentive he is to Jeni's needs and how easily he admits he messed up when he screws up. The authors manage to advance the background story and tell Jeni and Hawk's romance so well you become completely immersed in the story.
I'm dying to know how the war ends and what happens to the O'Kanes. And I'm even happier to know that Nessa gets the last book. It needed to be Nessa's book. I can't wait to read the last book in this series.
Each and every book and novella and short story on the Beyond series rates 5 stars! This is a really wonderful love story of two very different people finding a common ground while their world erupts into chaos and pain...war has finally broke out between Eden and the sectors.
Hawk wants a commitment from Jeni but she is unsure if she can choose that lifestyle. He is determined and pursues her until he gets her agreement. Still, many factors continue to challenge their relationship. Their love is tested while the war heats up bringing casualties of loved ones.
O'Kanes bring all their skills to save their lifestyle and loved ones. They have had enough of Eden. Their fellow sector leaders join them. The time has come to kick Eden's hypocrites out of power.
I enjoyed this story...through joys and sorrows. I think you will also.
I just finished reading Kit Rocha’s Beyond Ecstasy and I am speechless. This doesn’t happen often. I have been engrossed in this series since first reading of Noelle and Jasper. I feel in love with everyone involved but have been dreading coming to the point we are now. I cannot stand the thought of losing anyone of these people to war…and yep I know they aren’t real.
Beyond Ecstasy begins very shortly after Beyond Ruin and picks up speed. It is moving faster and faster. The authors make you feel the terror and desperation, the sadness, and ultimately the hope. In this book we learn more about Hawk and Jeni. I have never met two people more right for each other yet so clueless how to get to get to the happy ending. Hawk is too busy taking care of everyone and taking on their mistakes while Jeni is scare and doesn’t seem to know how to let go of needing to feel needed. Neither is perfect and both make decisions for the other and push beyond what is reasonable. But both have their hearts in the right place.
Overall, I loved this book. It was at times very uncomfortable…not because it was a bad book or not well written but because it made me look at something inside myself and made fundamental changes to me. Kit Rocha always provides well written beautiful novels that make you think and change you. This book is different in that war is here. The city has forced changes, become greedy, and have been fighting dirty. They are making so people cannot simply live. Hawk and Jeni’s love will blow you away. I cannot wait for the final book in this series and for Sector 1’s spin off…although I hate to say goodbye to Sector 4.
This felt rushed.. Loving the series but this one just didn't sit right. It had a ton of potential with him being older and the need was raw, but when the two of them came together he came across as a twelve year old with a man complex, and not in a good way. Scenarios started and you felt like you were in for a ride but then it fizzled out. It had the same story line of the others. want, get together, someone throws a tantrum, things go bad, someone gets saved, realises the errors of their ways then they get back together again. The men come across as all powerful, but in the bed they won't shut the heck up, asking questions like they are some sort of creeper. It hurt that this was not in line with the others. Writers must remember that when a reader reads one book, they then read the rest of the series, so the style in which the writer writes needs to change. I just hope after Ryder and Nessa the writers take on Ashwin..... THAT would be an awesome read.
